Family & Relationships

Parents: Angelina and George Weasley

George Weasley: Mangages Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes and has just opened a second shop in Hogsmeade.

Siblings: Fred Weasley II [info]fredagain

Other Family Members or Significant Relationships:
George Weasley: Roxanne gets along well with her Dad and is in fact Daddy’s little girl. She doesn’t often take advantage of this fact, preferring to save the tears and quivering lower lip for when she really needs it. From George she’s learned how to laugh at her mistakes (sometimes) and how to work for what she wants. Roxie knows that he’s always there when she needs him even if he is often busy with the shop and the planning of the new shop in Hogsmeade.

Angelina Weasley: Roxie’s relationship with her Mum is an odd one. She loves her, but sometimes feel as if she doesn’t quite understand Roxie. Like George, Angelina is bubbly, outspoken, quidditch mad, and extroverted. Roxanne however, is more apt to be found with her nose in a book than on a broom. Slightly introverted and at times overly rational, Roxie wonders at times if she was born into the wrong family.

Fred Weasley II: TBD

The Societies

Thoughts about the Hogwarts secret societies:
Roxanne thinks that they are a good way to get ahead after Hogwarts because of the networking they’d provide. She also thinks that it’s a good way to make further connections and friends within Hogwarts. Roxie doesn’t think that it’s a bad thing to have them though she can see that students would feel excluded if they were not tapped. After all, by their very nature secret societies are meant to be exclusive. Although, she is very put out that she wasn’t tapped. Roxie suspects she’s the only Weasley/Potter cousin who wasn’t tapped, but will never admit to being upset by it.

Personality & History

Personality:
Roxanne is the quiet Weasley. In the middle of her boisterous family she’s the one who is watching the scene unfold in front of her, or having a quiet conversation with someone off to the side. There are times when she feels that she doesn’t quite fit in, but she’s fiercely loyal to her family and isn’t afraid to take up for them. Though she’ll often do it in a quiet, subtle kind of way. Roxie is all about organization, planning, and if need be having an escape plan. She’s not one to go into a situation without having thought of all possible outcomes. It’s also one of the reasons why she’s not fond of change or surprises.

Although she is serious and more likely than not will often be found in the Library, she understands that not everyone takes classes (or life) as seriously as she. Roxie is very much a live and let live sort of person. She has her own opinion and thoughts and isn’t likely to force them on you. However, if you ask her opinion, be prepared to hear it. Roxanne isn’t one to mince her words, though she is working on her tact and has made improvements.

Behind the bookish exterior, Roxanne is caring and warm to her friends, though it does take her awhile to warm up to people. In fact, she likes to joke that if it weren’t for her housemates, she never would’ve made as many friends as she has.

One of Roxanne’s greatest strengths is her intelligence. She is one of those people who seem to be happiest when given a problem that appears to be unsolvable. She loves a challenge, and in fact the quickest way to get her thinking about doing something is to tell her she’s not capable of doing something. She’s well spoken and rational, and usually prefers to think her way out of problems.

A part of her strength is also one of her weaknesses. Because she is so rational, she tends to miss out on the bigger picture. Roxie can, and often does, focus so closely on the tasks at hand, that she forgets to take time for herself or others. It’s not that she doesn’t or can’t form emotional attachments, rather it’s that she sometimes forgets that she should.

History/Significant Events:

Pre Hogwarts
The second child of George and Angelina, Roxanne grew up in a loving home even if it was a bit chaotic at times. Born after her brother Fred, Roxie had a good childhood growing up around her immediate and extended family. In fact, she often jokes that she’s glad that Fred’s older because it means that her parents learned what not to do with him. Roxie was taught the basics at home, with the occasional lesson from her grandma Weasley at the burrow. While her parents were working she often spent time at her grandmother’s or, once she was older, helping out at the shop.

Hogwarts Years:
Roxie was extremely excited when her letter for Hogwarts came. She’d watched her brother leave for school the year before, and spent the majority of the year counting down the days on her calendar. Now it was her turn and, she couldn’t wait to board the train. The train ride was mostly a blur for her, she found a compartment that wasn’t too crowded and chatted a bit with the other students. Her first view of the castle was breathtaking and the boat ride wasn’t a scary as her brother had made it out to be.

What did scare her however was the Sorting Hat. Mostly because she didn’t know what to expect and wasn’t too sure about what house she’d be placed in. When her name was called, she sat on the rickety stool, and let the hat fall down on her head. Gripping the edge of the stool she listened as the hat debated between Ravenclaw and Slytherin, before deciding on Ravenclaw. Surprised, she made her way over to the Ravenclaw table and sheepishly shrugged her shoulders in her brother’s direction.

In Ravenclaw Roxie felt that she had found a group of friends that she truly fit in with. She spent her first several years diving into her coursework, making a few close friends, and exploring the castle. Although she enjoys playing and watching Quidditch, she chose not to try out for the house team, instead choosing to play on the intramural team. To her mother’s dismay, she felt that she’d rather concentrate on her studies rather than quidditch. Roxie does however go to every Ravenclaw match and cheers quite loudly for her House.

Last year, Roxie was annoyed that she wasn’t selected as a Prefect., not that she didn’t think that Sophia wouldn’t do a good job, but Roxie had sort of been hoping that she would get the position. Now that she’s in her 6th year, Roxanne is hoping that she can make more time for friends while getting ready for NEWTS. Not to mention trying to figure out what she wants to do after school. She’s not sure if she wants to go the Ministry route, or find a job elsewhere. The Ministry, she figures is the safer route, but also the most expected route for her.

List five to ten goals for your character to pursue during the course of the game. Then pick the most interesting one and tell us 1) what your character's motivation for achieving it is and 2) what obstacles you see them having to overcome to get what they want.

1) Find a date that her brother won’t scare off for any dances this year.

So far, Roxie has yet to find a date that Fred hasn’t run off. She’s hoping that the threat of hexes will make him behave this time around.

2) Find more time for friends and fun.

Roxie is noticing that occasionally she needs help seeing the bigger picture and not focusing so much on the little things. So one of her goals for this year is to have more fun.

3) Take chances, do the unexpected

Roxanne feels like she’s predictable. She tends to do the same things, the same way. Routines are comfortable to her and she wants to (at least a little) break some of those habits.

4) Figure out what she wants to do after Hogwarts and how she’s going to get there.

She’s thinking that the Department of Mysteries would be cool, and maybe an Obliviator would be a cool job. She’s not sure though if she wants to have a Ministry job.

5) Recruit more students for the intramural quidditch team.

She wants to play more quidditch, but needs teammates!

6) Find out more about the Societies.

If anything Roxie is curious about things and can become a bit obsessive about it. Wanting to know about the Societies is something she’s curious about.

7) Watch Ravenclaw win the Cup.

8) Spend time with her brother before he graduates.

While she’s close to Fred, she sort of feels like they’ve grown apart lately. She’d like to spend time with him before he leaves and starts his life.

9) Get ready for her NEWTS.

She’s not too worried yet, but wants to get ahead in her studies just the same.
